Philips has won an exceptional 31 world-renowned iF awards for material, packaging and product communications design – with nine awards for our consumer luminaires.

    November 22, 2011

The iF product design awards honour outstanding achievements in design and are seen as a "seal of good design" throughout the global world of design and beyond. An internationally renowned jury, consisting of 44 design experts, has engaged in a critical discussion and debate to select the winning products. Out of 4,322 entries submitted by 1,605 participants from 48 countries, the iF product design awards jury has selected 1,218 favorites as the best designs for 2012.

“We are proud to be honoured with nine iF design awards for our consumer luminaires ranges. It is a great recognition for our products, the design teams and our business group, and clearly shows our capabilities in design as well as our leadership in LED”, says Heleen Engelen, Senior Design Director at Philips Consumer Luminaires. “We recently started developing LED based solutions and these awards are an inspiration and boost for the future.”

All prize-winning products will be presented at the iF design exhibition in Hanover, Germany from March 6 until the 10th, 2012 and in Hamburg the second half of 2012. On February 10, 2012 the awards ceremony will take place in Munich, Germany where the 100 Gold Award Winners will be announced. More information can be found at www.ifdesign.de.
