Signify is a signatory to Terra Carta

    January 26, 2021

‘Terra Carta’, launched by the Prince of Wales, outlines a framework to combat climate change and create a sustainable world

The Prince of Wales, the UK’s heir to the throne, launched an ambitious Magna Carta-style charter that calls on business and industry to lead the fight against the climate crisis.

Signify has joined with other high-profile businesses in support of the charter, which forms part of Prince Charles’ Sustainable Market Initiative. This initiative seeks to work with the private sector to accelerate the global transition to a sustainable future.

The 'Terra Carta' offers the basis of a recovery plan that puts Nature, People and Planet at the heart of global value creation – one that will harness the precious, irreplaceable power of Nature combined with the transformative innovation and resources of the private sector.”

The charter is the foundation of a recovery plan, which targets 2050 as the date to meet net zero emissions, but also touches on other areas, such as natural ecosystems preservation, natural resources, human health and wellbeing.

As a signatory, Signify joins other leading companies including the Bank of America, BP, BlackRock and AstraZeneca.
