LightFinder: Breaking new digital ground for consumer lighting

We are in the midst of a new era of customer engagement. According to Salesforce’s most recent State of the Connected Customer, consumers estimate that 60% of their interactions with companies are via online channels – up 18% compared to last year.

And the COVID-19 pandemic is only accelerating the need for companies to adapt their digital operations, to serve customers better, faster and with personalized offers. The same Salesforce research found:

    • Sixty-eight percent of customers agree that the COVID-19 pandemic has elevated their expectations of companies’ digital capabilities.
    • Nearly 7 out of 10 consumers want companies to translate the products and services they’ve enjoyed into new digital formats.
    • All generations – from Baby Boomers to Gen Z – demand convenience and ways to simplify their purchases (including shipping and fulfillment).

Enhancing our digital platforms and customer interfaces is a crucial part of Signify’s own business transformation. I’m excited to share that we’re already breaking new digital ground – with LightFinder – to deliver value to consumers. This app addresses all the bullet points above: it offers an easy and seamless way to find and buy the right light bulb replacement for your home.

LightFinder is based on Artificial Intelligence technology – all you have to do is snap a photo of your bulb, and it will immediately recommend the best replacement. The app also includes an Augmented Reality feature to help you visualize how that bulb’s brightness, tone and effects will look in your room. With LightFinder, you don’t have to be a lighting expert to get exactly what you’re looking for.
