Boston was the host city for the 86th annual United States Conference of Mayors that was held on June 8-11. Approximately 250 of the nation’s mayors gathered to discuss a range of issues, including infrastructure, immigration, cybersecurity, public safety, jobs and economic development, as well as share best practices on how cities can take the lead to address them.
We have actively partnered with USCM since 2010, and almost a decade later, the leadership of our nation’s mayors continue to inspire and encourage. Among the notable activities to take place this weekend, Signify hosted a panel discussion – The 24-hour Mayor: Making the Evening Safe and Vibrant – as part of the Best Practice Forum.
The panel of distinguished guests included Ron Nirenberg, Mayor of San Antonio who talked about the importance of revitalizing the urban core of San Antonio; Latoya Cantrell, Mayor of New Orleans who expressed how LED lighting in New Orleans has been impactful for public safety; and Chris Osgood, Chief of Streets, Transportation & Sanitation for the City of Boston who talked about the benefits of well lit streets. The forum was moderated by Cathilea Robinett, President of Governing Magazine.
