The Brightest in His Class – Blake Lange is named 40 Under 40! |
Every year, the trade publication Greenhouse Product News (GPN) spotlights 40 professionals under the age of 40 in the horticulture industry. From plant breeders to retail experts, these individuals are setting the pace for the future – shaping where the industry is headed, why its headed that way and how we are going to get there. Signify’s City Farming Business Development Manager Blake Lange has been inducted into the class of 2022 for his outstanding contributions to the industry.
For Blake, farming is in his DNA. He comes from a long line of corn and soybean farmers – understanding the challenges of running a farming business firsthand. His upbringing inspired him to study at the University of Illinois Chicago, where he obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Entrepreneurship. After a few years in sales and project management roles, he returned to his roots and joined Signify’s Horticulture team in the US as a Business Development Manager for City Farming.
“Blake is a huge asset to our team” said Henry Olson Commercial Leader for the U.S. Agriculture Market. “He has a lot of knowledge and experience in vertical farming, and this recognition is well deserved.”
In this role, Lange merges his passion for LED lighting technology with his horticultural knowledge to assist city farming entrepreneurs and established growers in their indoor agricultural and vertical farm operations. He strives to not only help these farmers improve their crop quality for clean, healthy and nutritious food all year round, but to also support their bottom line and hit sustainability targets for a brighter tomorrow.
“I have been working with Blake for 7 years and am always impressed with his knowledge of vertical farming. His sales drive, perseverance and networking skills are inspiring, making the challenging business of vertical farming that for a long time seemed to be impossible, truly possible nowadays!” said Ellis Janssen, Global Director of City Farming at Signify.
We’re proud to have him represent Signify in GPN’s 40 Under 40. Committed to growing a more sustainable world, Blake’s dedication and hard work continue to make a real difference in the vertical farming industry.
