Martin Mercier is a senior product manager for Signify and was hired to “connect the lights”. In his early days in Research and Development, he contributed to the development and deployment of the first Philips LED light engine platform for multiple Philips Lighting brands. Shortly after he started focusing on outdoor lighting control systems and has been involved in lighting network systems and various smart city projects. His insights and ideas have helped to strengthen overall team efforts in pioneering new lighting technologies to ensure successful launches to market. He is personally involved in various communities such as ANSI and is constantly establishing valuable relationships to accelerate general industry knowledge on connected lighting systems, and more recently on IoT related technologies. Martin has studied Electrical Engineering at the renowned École de Technologie supérieure in Montreal – the largest engineering school in Quebec. He is currently based in Austin, Texas.
