Technological enhancement in the field of artificial lighting is at its accelerated growth - Be it the lighting fixtures or the lighting controls. The research and development in the field of artificial lighting is resulting in the drastic reduction in the building energy demand. The market transformation and demand for these enhanced technologies are driven by the green practices prescribed by green rating bodies such as USGBC and the energy codes. ASHRAE 90.1 has brought in stringent criteria for artificial lighting to ensure most effective and optimum usage of lighting.
