Amsterdam, The Netherlands (November 10, 2010) – Philips (NYSE:PHG, AEX: PHI) and Lemnis Lighting signed a license agreement giving Lemnis access to Philips’ vast portfolio of patents related to LED systems and controls. Lemnis joins the licensing program for LED-based luminaires and retrofit bulbs, introduced by Philips. At the same time Philips obtains access to the LED-bulb architecture and control patents of Lemnis. No financial details of the agreement are disclosed.

Lemnis Lighting B.V. is a subsidiary of Tendris Holding and a frontrunner in the field of sustainable lighting solutions, based on LED technology such as the Pharox LED Bulb. “This agreement provides additional reinforcement to our customers to continue to grow their business of LED lamps and luminaires and is a further important step towards Lemnis’ main goal of fast adoption of LED lighting solutions in mass markets”, said Martijn Dekker, Chief Technology Officer of Lemnis Lighting.
