CES 2020 - Las Vegas, Nevada (USA) – Signify (Euronext: LIGHT), Signify, the world leader in lighting, reveals an exciting update for the recently introduced Philips Hue Play HDMI Sync Box enabling the use of voice control and infrared TV remotes.
Get hands-free control of the sync box
Craving for a night to enjoy a game or movie to the fullest? Just ask Amazon Alexa, the Google Assistant or Apple Siri to turn on your Philips Hue HDMI Sync Box to start syncing your Philips Hue smart lights with your TV for a hands-free surround lighting experience.
Getting the feature is simple: update the sync box via the Hue Sync mobile app and enable the voice assistant feature to use the voice assistant of your choice to easily sync your lights with movies, music, TV shows or video games.
The voice commands for all three assistants include turning the sync box on/off, changing light settings or switching between HDMI devices.

The voice control feature for the sync box will be available as of spring 2020 in an update that can be installed via the Hue Sync mobile app.
New infrared remote control feature and more
Additionally, you can now use any infrared TV remote control (standard and universal) to control the sync box, including for example turning it on and off and switching between HDMI inputs. Teach the sync box to respond to any button on your remote control via the app, or by configuring the sync box with the universal remote switch smoothly between multiple devices, making the sync box easier to use on an everyday basis in your home theater.
Sync box now available in more countries
From February 4 onwards, the Philips Hue Play HDMI Sync Box will also be available at selected retailers and meethue.com in additional countries. Take your home entertainment to the next level with the Philips Hue Play HDMI Sync Box in Mexico, Spain, Portugal, Italy, Greece, Poland, Czech Republic, Ukraine, Hungary, Bulgaria and the Baltic countries as well!
