    January 22, 2025

Signify top ranking company headquartered in the Netherlands in “Global 100 most sustainable corporations”

Eindhoven, the Netherlands – Signify (Euronext: LIGHT), the world leader in lighting, has been named in the Global 100 ranking of the most sustainable corporations by Corporate Knights. The announcement comes as global leaders convene for the World Economic Forum annual meeting in Davos this week under the theme—collaboration for the intelligent age.

Aligned with the company's longstanding commitment to sustainability, Signify has spent decades delivering innovative lighting solutions. These advancements have paved the way for greater energy efficiency, enhanced well-being and significant electricity savings.

Ranking third among its electrical equipment manufacturing peer group and 15th overall, Signify is well positioned alongside today's top contributors to a more sustainable and intelligent future, scoring high in the following:

    • Sustainable revenues as a proportion of gross revenue
    • Sustainable investments, including research and development
    • Public disclosure of company's processes towards own alignment to the goals of Paris Agreement in engagement with policymakers and trade associations and procedures in cases of non-alignment

We are honored to see the recognition from Corporate Knights, a clear sign of our commitment to make sustainability integrated in the business. As the world leader in lighting, we take the responsibility seriously to lower our own footprint, as well as increase the energy efficiency of our products, while advocating for a green energy transition. We have set ambitious climate targets, and we are energized by the work ahead to meet these goals and achieve our net zero ambition,"

    Maurice Loosschilder,

    Head of Sustainability at Signify

Corporate Knights is an independent media and research company, which each year publishes its flagship Global 100 most sustainable corporations list, now in its 21st year. The annual ranking is based on a rigorous assessment of more than 8,359 companies with more than $1 billion in revenues.

The news follows the recent launch of Signify's Climate Transition Plan, where it announced plans to reach its SBTi-validated net zero targets, aiming to reduce its greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions by 90% across the entire value chain by 2040.
